For a Web site to be accessible from the Internet it needs to be on a special server thats connected to the Internet. This is a Web Server.

Since most businesses dont own a Web server they rent space on other Internet Service Providers (ISP) servers. The ISP acts as the Host to your Web site. The service of renting the server space is call Hosting.
