What Is Hosting?
For a Web site to be accessible from the Internet it needs to be on a special server that’s connected to the Internet. This is a “Web Server”.

Since most businesses don’t own a Web server they rent space on other Internet Service Provider’s (ISP) servers. The ISP acts as the “Host” to your Web site. The service of renting the server space is call “Hosting”.
